Blalock switching gloves
Submitted by Rogers Reilly on Fri, 05/23/2008 - 02:04Hopefully his bat perks up at the easier position. He hasn't put up quality 1B numbers yet, but I feel like he may be primed.
Justin Verlander: Who turned the thermostat down?
Submitted by Rogers Reilly on Fri, 05/09/2008 - 00:54Jack Morris apparently thinks his shoulder's toast. Tonight against the Red Sox, I didn't see him hit 95.

Update: Hughes Can't See (at Night)
Submitted by Rogers Reilly on Wed, 04/30/2008 - 19:25Just get him some specialized Transitions lenses, and I expect he'll dominate.
Bullish on Phil Hughes
Submitted by Rogers Reilly on Tue, 04/29/2008 - 20:30This guy thinks Hughes is a better long-term bet than Joba. I'm not sure I'd go that far, but I do think this guy's waaaaaay undervalued.
Go Cubs, GO!
Submitted by Rogers Reilly on Fri, 04/25/2008 - 01:18There's a good shot of Mark Cuban in there singing during the stretch ... if only.
Jayhawks Win! (aka Memphis Chokes at the Stripe)
Submitted by Rogers Reilly on Tue, 04/08/2008 - 04:41I'd meant to post the real "One Shining Moment" but nobody's got it up yet. (I prefer the 1992 version to anything with Joakim Noah in it- plus, this one is pre-Luther Vandross monopoly on O.S.M.)
A few observations in no particular order:
1) This whole Danny and the Miracles 20th anniversary is killing me- they even let the gimp-kneed non-pro cut down part of the net. I was rooting for Stacey King and Mookie Blalock back then, and I still believe the refs refused to foul him out in that game.
Bronson Arroyo: You don't really want this guy on your team, do you?
Submitted by Rogers Reilly on Tue, 04/08/2008 - 00:17Someone oughta send John Belushi over to that Reds' clubhouse to smash this guy's guitar over a staircase.
The New Cueto: Edison Volquez
Submitted by Rogers Reilly on Sun, 04/06/2008 - 18:27Volquez through 4 IP in his Reds debut: 2 hits, 2 BBs, 0 Runs, 6 Ks. He and Cueto are the new nasty boys in Philly.

I'm not a big Fox News basher, and I'll flip on O'Reilly once in a while for kicks; but this is just so funny I had to put it up. (update: since YouTube took down the O'Reilly vid, here's Colbert's response ...)
